STUDENT VISA IN NEW ZEALAND

Student visa Advice

Regardless of the type of study you want to pursue, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) must determine that you meet certain criteria in order for you to be considered a genuine student. Our job is to be able to determine if your profile adapts to these requirements and let you know the viability of a study process in this country. We are here to guide you on your way to that next study that you are passionate about, but we can only advise you if you meet all these requirements.

Why this?

Our greatest interest is that you start a process with the confidence that you are on the right track, since this is a project that requires effort, resources, and time. If there are factors that negatively influence your plan, the best we can offer you is our honesty. The most important thing we want you to understand is that it is our years of experience and the close relationship we have with INZ and its internal processes that allow us to determine if you are the candidate New Zealand is looking for.

Our Advice is

FIRST STEP

Check our New Zealand student profile checklist

The requirements that you find below are mandatory within a student visa process. These are determined by Immigration New Zealand and not specifically by us.

Do you have a genuine (and demonstrable) justification for undertaking this study?

Do you plan to return to your country?

Is this study relevant to your current experience/occupation/job?

How would this improve your job opportunities?

Have you made efforts on your own to study? Ex. English

You must be able to provide real evidence of your plan, this is something we can work on with you if you have a strong profile to make the application

It is important for Immigration to know that you have a relevant educational base, which is what will give you the jump to your next study. Technical studies do not always have a justification that merits higher studies abroad.

Remember that you must show immigration your bank statements for at least the last 6 months. If within that time there is any significant money income, we must justify its origin. The economic solvency to prove is $1,670 NZD per month of stay or $20,000 NZD per year. + plane tickets ($2,500 NZD approx).

In addition with the equivalent of the cost of the course that can vary for English courses for 24 weeks between $6,000 and $8,000 NZD and higher studies between $20,000 NZD and $40,000 NZD

In certain cases you could have a resource sponsor, this must be a close relative. Eg Parents, siblings, grandparents.

ALL MONEY MUST BE IN THE BANKING SYSTEM, NOT IN CASH.

It adds a lot to your profile to show that you have been to other countries first.

What are the reasons for returning to your country?

Could you easily enter the labor market when you return?

Do you have work or family commitments?

Do you have properties or businesses that you must manage in your country?

If there is no compelling reason to consider returning, your profile may not be strong enough to apply for a student visa.

The job you currently have is essential as it contributes to your links with your country, your genuine intentions and the resources you can demonstrate.
Having a casual job or being unemployed will negatively affect your options.

If your plan is to travel with your family (partner, children) keep in mind that in most cases they will have to apply for independent visas on their own rights. In which case it is important that economic solvency is available for each one.

secoond step

Do you meet the checklist requirements?
