Requirements for a Student Visa

  • You need a valid passport
  • Acceptance letter from the educational institution
  • The payment of the course must be made before applying for the visa and the money is different from that of the economic solvency
  • Economic solvency: Demonstrate that you have $1,670 NZD available per month of stay
  • Round trip air ticket or at least enough funds to prove the return
  • Medical exams that demonstrate your state of health
  • Compulsory medical insurance during the time of the visa

Study budget

  • Course price: It depends on the study you want to do, the duration and the city. We can advise you on the best school and program for you
  • Living funds: Demonstrate that you have $1,670 NZD available per month of stay
  • Student visa application fee: $430 NZD (offshore) $410 (Onshore) This is the cost that is paid to Immigration to be able to apply for the visa
  • Flight tickets: $2,500NZD ish. It depends on the airline, time of year you travel and the country you come from
  • Health insurance: $299 NZD for 6 months

Do you have kids? Bear in mind:

Less than 5 years (childcare)

Kids with less than 5 years enter with a visitor visa for which they must show $1,000 NZD per month of stay. They will have the right to 20 hours per week of childcare for children between 3 and 5 years old subsidised by the Government, the excess is paid by the parents.

Price per Full-time (7:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m.) weekly from $250 NZD to $500 NZD. Many of them include food and nappies. 

5 years or older (Primary School and High School)

They enter the country generally with a student visa under their own rights, for which their parents need to proof the same living funds of $1,670 NZD per month of stay + cost of the course (Primary, High School, etc.)

Cost of studies can be between $17,000 NZD and $20,000 NZD per year. This price can be divided into 4 quarters depending on the time the child is going to study, for instance, if they are only going to study for 6 months, the fee is divided in half.
